Uche kick-off 2015 with a bang

Super eagles attacker Ikechukwu Uche started the year 2015 on a flying note as he scored in Villareal's 2-2 draw at Elche in the Spanish la-liga.

The liga BBVA resumed after the festive break with the 30 year old making an instant statement by registering a goal less than 20 minutes into the action.

The Nigerian doubled the yellow Submarine's lead after Luciano Dario Vietto had put the visitors in front in the 12th minute.

After some scary moments from the home team, Villareal breaking forward quickly with Mario on the right, whose dangerous ball into the area was met with a predatory finish from Uche.

The Nigerian was in the right place at the right time to score his sides second of the match, while he also set up a couple more good chances in the second period.

The home side hauled themselves back in the game with Jonathas  and Victor Rodriguez cancelling Villareal's two goal lead.

Uche was however replaced in the 75th minute by Mexican, Giovani Dos-Santos as both teams ended up sharing the spoils.

The Nigerian first goal in 2015 makes it goal number six in all competitions this season.
