Scoring against Arsenal will make me enemy no.1- Yakubu

The ex- Nigeria striker says he will upset 60 per cent of Nigerians if he scores in the FA Cup semi-final.

Reading FC of England star Yakubu  Aiyegbeni believes he will make himself public enemy No.1 in Nigeria if he scores against Arsenal in Saturdays FA Cup semi-final game.

As we await the resumption of hostilities in the Nigerian premier league, Bayelsa United have declared totalwar on their opponents FC Taraba on sunday, when the later comes knocking.
 FC Taraba remain Unbeaten after winning two and drawing one of their three games played so far.  but Bayelsa united is looking to truncate that unbeaten run when they clash in a Week 4 game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Sunday in Oghara.

 Bayelsa United media officer, Eddy Ohis, explained to AfricanFootball.com how battle ready his team are for their game against Taraba FC, assured fans it will be a goal feast when the Yola based outfit comes visiting.

Super Sand Eagles continue flight

In case you've missed out of the activity going on the world of beach soccer going on lately, well you should be proud of what your countrymen are doing in Seychelles.

Our darling beach eagles aka Super Sand Eagles have irresistible so far in far away Seychelles in the  2015 CAF Beach Soccer Championship. 
They once again got the better of their west African counterparts Ivory Coast when both sides locked horns earlier today. The Super sand eagles flew over the Ivorians to qualify for the semi final of the competition after 7-6 victory.

We gather that super eagles power house and Fenerbahce of turkey striker is touted to be hot on the radar of Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact. 

We all thought he was headed for Tottenham Hotspur didn't we? Well Emenike was of course linked with a move to Tottenham in the winter transfer window as replacement for "witch hunted" Emmanuel Adebayor.  A deal that never saw daylight.

Nigeria Premier League official sponsor, Globacom, yesterday expressed it deep concern over the early exit of all Nigeria’s representatives in this year CAF Champions League competition at the round 32.

Current Champions of Nigeria Premier League, Kano Pillars and runners up, Enyimba were both knocked out of the competition by teams from Algeria and Egypt respectively a situation that has left a bad taste in the mouths of many football loving Nigerians including NPFL sponsors Globacom.

Enyeama nominated for Africa's Best Player in France

Notwithstanding the uncertainties surrounding his international career, Nigerian skipper Vincent Enyeama is in line to win the award for the best African player based in France for the second year in a row.

The Lille man has made the shortlist for the RFI - FRANCE 24 Marc-Vivien Foé Award for the best African player in the French Ligue 1 football championship for the 2014-15 season, it has been announced.

A shortlist of 10 players in the running to receive this year’s award was unveiled in France by state radio RFI and satellite television France 24 – sponsors of the award.

You see them on match days just before they step onto the pitch. Some kneeling on the touchline and muttering their prayers, others would not kneel but would stand, hands pointed to the skies for brief moments. Some others would simply touch the line and make some signs on their forehead and chest before racing onto the pitch while others ensure they step onto the pitch with a particular feet before the other. Such rites have become commonplace even in global football grounds and they are usually undertaken in faith that they will produce a favorable outcome for the one doing them and his team.

Nigeria international Victor Moses has returned to the treatment table after he suffered an injury which can't be explained yet.

He sustained the injury on Saturday while in action for Stoke City in a 1-1 draw with Westham and his manager Mark Hughes said he can't say the nature of injury as where it occurred was strange and he may be out for some weeks.
