Another Loss for Nigeria Football as Ex Enyimba defender Orjinta passes on

Just days after the sad passing of Lobi stars player Audu Seriki in an auto crash, Nigeria football has once again lost one of its own to the cold hands of death.


The handsome young man in the photo is Romanus Orjinta, a Former Enyimba of Aba defender.

Enyeama named best keeper in France

Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama has been selected as the best shot stopper in Ligue 1 for 2014 by prestigious French Newspaper, L’Equipe.

The 32-year-old was selected as the league’s best goalkeeper for 2014 despite Lille’s stuttering start to the 2014-15 season that sees them languishing in 13th place in the 20-team standings.

Mikel in contention for premiership award


CHELSEA and Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel, Swansea striker Wilfried Bony, Sadio Mane of Southampton, as well as Alex Song from West Ham are in contention for the best African performer in the EPL for December.

Kano Pillars axe 10 players

Nigeria Champions Kano Pillars have released 10 players ahead of the new season including Nazifi Ammani.

Among the other players laid off are Bello Musa Kofarmata, Kingsley Udoh and Kabiru Umar.

Keshi must work with our terms- Pinnick insists


Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick, insists that Coach Stephen Keshi must be ready to work with the conditions spelt out by the NFF, if he were to keep his job.

The future of Keshi is still in the dark as the Eagles regrouped in Abuja for two international friendlies against Cote d'Ivoire and Sudan in Dubai with assistant coach Daniel Amokachi taking charge.

6 Grade A friendlies for Eagles in 2015

All9jafootball gathers that at least 6 grade A friendly games have been planned for the super eagles in 2015 by the NFF. 

Among these include the much talked about friendly game against Brasil later in march.

Kanu rates Nigeria Football low in 2014

Ex Super Eagles captain, Kanu Nwankwo, has scored the country's football low in the outgoing year with regard to the senior national team failing to qualify for the AFCON to be held in Equatorial Guinea this month.

Out of favour Super eagles defender Taye Taiwo who plays for Bursaspor of Turkey has shown his interest in returning to the national team setup.
Taiwo who has played 53 times for the Super Eagles is yet to play for his country since current coach took over the helm of affairs.

Nigeria Super Eagles attacker Nnamdi Oduamadi, who now plays for Serie B club side Crotone of Italy, came out yesterday to tell us that his parent club still keep in touch and that they are very much concerned about his progress.
We recall that the Rossoneri loaned out the 24year old Nigerian attacker prior to the start of the season to Crotone.

Odemwingie in line for new Stoke Deal

Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie is set to be offered a new contract by Stoke City despite being sidelined due to injury.

Odemwingie has been on the sidelines since August owing to a cruciate knee ligament injury, but the former West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City man will be out of contract at the Britannia Stadium at the end of this season.

Emenike critical of himself for goal drought- Agent

The agent of Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike, Erdem Konyar has revealed that the player is frustrated with himself for not finding the back of the net regularly. 

He explained that contrary to media speculation, the 27 year old has no problem with the coach Ismail Kartal, rather vents his anger on himself.

Yakubu on QPR's Radar


QPR boss Harry Redknapp is preparing a surprise move for Nigerian veteran Yakubu according to the Daily Mirror.

The 32 year old has worked under Redknapp previously at Portsmouth and is a proven Premier League finisher though has spent the past couple of years playing in China and Qatar so one would have to wonder if the powerful forward still has the ability to make an impact at the highest level.

NFF warns Against late camp arrival from eagles players

All home based eagles invited for the double friendly scheduled for the super eagles against Cote D'Ivoire and Sudan on January 12 and 17 respectively have been told that they must report to the Bolton white apartment, wuse zone 7, Abuja, tomorrow, as late arrival will be frowned at.

We gather that super eagles Assistant coach Daniel Amokachi will be in charge of both friendly games.

Off Day for Nigerians In England

Majority of Nigerian players in England had bad outings with their respective clubs, with only Sammy Amoebi though injured and Odion Ighalo the only Nigerians who recorded victory with their clubs. 

Southampton 1-1 Chelsea

John Obi Mikel returnd to the Chelsea starting eleven after he made his first substitute appearance in five games in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Westham on boxing day. The Nigerian lasted for 74 minutes as Eden Hazard cancelled Sadio Mane early strike for the host. Chelsea remained top of the English premier league going to the new year.  The 27 year old has now made 16 appearances for the blues this term, scoring once.

Liverpool to swap Borini with Onazi

Reports emanating from Italian media claim Lazio could receive Fabio Borini in exchange for Nigerian midfielder Eddy Onazi to Liverpool.

It would be a return to Rome for the striker, but on the other side, as he previously played for Lazio’s arch rivals Roma.
