Yaya Toure beats a Nigerian in Nigeria again, as Assisat steals show

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has once again been named Africa footballer of the year for a record fourth time in a row. Yaya saw off competition from Nigeria super-eagles captain Vincent Enyeama and Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In an award gala that saw appearances from the rank and file of Africa football, it was probably Nigeria super falcons attacker that stole the show with two awards, as best young player in Africa and also as  Queen of Africa football for the year.

The over 2hour show saw top notch performances from talented African artists including Nigeria's Omawumi, Flavour, P-square and also a thrilling performance from Tanzania hotshot Diamond platinez.

This would be the second time Yaya Toure would win the award over a Nigerian right here in Nigeria at the Eko Hotels in Lagos after peeping Chelsea's John obi Mikel to the award last time out.
