Oshoala Opens Liverpool Goal Account

Liverpool Ladies recorded a 2-1 victory over
Birmingham City Ladies in a match day 2 FA
Women's Super League encounter at the
Select Security Stadium thanks to the
inspirational form of their Nigerian import
Asisat Oshoala.

The reigning FA Women's Super League
champions lost their first league match to
Sunderland Ladies and deservedly got a
revenge against a side that defeated them in
the FA Cup 5th round.

Oshoala was outstanding for the hosts, as she
opened her goal diary and also created the
second goal for the Reds.
The Reds took the lead when Oshoala slotted
in a volley from Gemma Bonner's cross.
Oshoala then set up Fara Williams for an easy
tap-in.

Despite Aoife Mannion pulling one back, the
hosts held on for the win.
Birmingham had beaten the Reds in the 5th
round of the FA Cup, but a repeat appeared
unlikely considering the marauding form of
the hosts.

A world class performance by 2014 U20
Women's World Cup MVP and top-scorer
Oshoala, was the foundation of a victory
which sealed the maximum points for the
homers at the Select Security Stadium.
Liverpool who were searching for their first
victory of the season started the game with
positive intention.

Some minutes into the match, Oshoala broke
free and won her side a free kick. The
resultant kick was wasted.
The hosts grew in confidence as they quelled
the Blues' threat and might have taken a lead.
Birmingham should have taken the lead when
Emily Westwood was found in space at the
near post only for the midfielder to head
wide.

The hardworking Oshoala continued to be
architect of Liverpool's good moves. The
former Rivers Angels forward forced the
goalkeeper to a save from 28 metres.
She wouldn't wait any longer for her first
league goal when she turned in a cross from
Bonner.

After the break, Liverpool exerted more
pressure and they doubled their advantage.
Williams converted a brilliant right wing cross
from the lively Oshoala.
And, in a dramatic finale, Mannion gave
Birmingham hope when she scored from
close range.

Chelsea to axe Moses to fund Summer Spending Spree

JOSE MOURINHO is set to axe Victor Moses this summer, to finance a raid on the transfer market this summer.

The Nigerian international is currently at Stoke on a season-long loan deal.
He's not thought to have a long-term future at Chelsea, and Potters boss Mark Hughes wants to keep the attacker at the Britannia Stadium on a permanent basis.

The Daily Mail reports that Mourinho is set to green light Moses' departure in order to help Chelsea overcome Financial Fair Play restrictions in the transfer market this summer.

The Portuguese has been linked with a host of top talent, including Real Madrid's Raphael Varane and Shakhtar Donetsk forward Douglas Costa.

But he will be forced to sell before he can buy, and Moses is said to be top of his list of exits this summer. According to the Telegraph, the former Wigan man turned down the chance to return to Stamford Bridge in January and help Chelsea in their pursuit of silverware.

Moses signed for the Blues from Wigan in 2012, but spent last season on loan at Liverpool before his move to Stoke earlier in the current campaign
