Celtic move closer to signing Nigerian Striker

Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode who plays for Maccabi Netanya in Israel is being reported to be In the transfer radar of Celtic of Scotland.

Celtic manager Ronny Diela is in the market for a new striker following the low goal return of Celtic striker John Guidetti, and Kayode is reported to be closely monitored by the men in stripped green.

The Nigerian has been in superb form the Israeli outfit, banging in 15 goals in 39 appearances so far.

We gather that Netanya where ready to sell Kayode for an estimated £1m but his asking price dropped to around £400,000 following the financial constraints being faced by the club.

Whilst other teams are interested, Celtic hold an interesting upper hand. Kayode's agent is Dudu Dahan, who helped Celtic land Efe Ambrose, Rami Gershon, Beram Kayal and Nir Bitton in recent years, and his presence in the deal suggests that Celtic are leading the chase.
"We believe the transfer will soon come to a conclusion and there are Belgian clubs, as well as Celtic, interested," said Dahan.
For just £400,000, Kayode may well be worth a gamble, and if Deila is serious about bringing him to Scotland, then Dahan will surely make it happen.
