Pillars Battle ready For Enyimba -Captain

Skipper of reigning champions of the Nigeria premiere league Kano Pillars, Theophilus Afelokhai has come out with a stout declaration that his side can move past their eviction in the CAF Champions League aside when they clash with rivals Enyimba in the Glo Premier League on Sunday.
The Nigerian Premier League champions were dumped out of the continental showpiece at the start of April after losing 5-2 on aggregate to Moghreb.
“With due respect to other teams in the Glo Premier League, Pillars and Enyimba are the two big clubs in Nigeria and any game between the two sides will always be a cracker,” he said while chatting with Supersport . Pillars will now return their focus to the Nigerian top flight, where they take on fellow NPL giants Enyimba at the Sani Abacha Stadium this weekend, and goalkeeper Afelokhai is hoping for a quick turnaround from the team.
“My teammates are looking forward to the game because we want to show our fans that they can still believe in us despite the problems of the last two weeks.
“This will be our second game in the league due to the unfortunate robbery incident. We beat Bayelsa United and I believe the same fate awaits Enyimba.
“We are battle ready for them, we won’t give up our title yet, the aim is to win it and get back into the continent so that we can apply the lessons we gained from our failure this year in the Champions League.” said Theophilus
