Its no longer news that about to be re-appointed national team boss Stephen Keshi is at thug of war with his deputy and long-time friend, Daniel Amokachi.
A staggering revelation was made on the reason being this latest twist of fate between the pair as whispers from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Glass House suggests that he wants Daniel Amokachi sacked as assistant manager of the Super Eagles.
Keshi as we all know has an eagle, who now see the former Everton forward as a threat to his quest to return after being in charge of the Eagles for 4 games.
Secondly, Daniel Amokachi earlier distanced himself from the Super Eagles disastrous showing against Uganda night by telling his bosses he did not pick the team.
“He said he did not pick the team, that it was Keshi who did so. It was his own way of defending himself,” said a top official of the NFF.
Amokachi’s latest self defence didn't go down well with Big Boss who now wants Amokachi out and the former Mali coach is pushing the NFF chiefs to re-engage the services of his former assistant, Togolese Valerie Hounandinuou who was fired by the NFF in April 2013.
Keshi’s new two-year contract has been sanctioned by the NFF executive committee and he is now expected to sign it in time for the qualifying tournament for the 2017 AFCON.
