Glo unhappy with NPFL top dogs, but heaps praises on Wolves

Nigeria Premier League official sponsor, Globacom, yesterday expressed it deep concern over the early exit of all Nigeria’s representatives in this year CAF Champions League competition at the round 32.

Current Champions of Nigeria Premier League, Kano Pillars and runners up, Enyimba were both knocked out of the competition by teams from Algeria and Egypt respectively a situation that has left a bad taste in the mouths of many football loving Nigerians including NPFL sponsors Globacom.

We got hold of a press statement released by Globacom in Lagos on Tuesday talking of how much prestige Nigeria has lost in the process.

“We believe Enyimba FC of Aba and Pillars FC of Kano have the pedigree to go far in the competition having both won the Glo Premier League between themselves in the past five years,” reads the statement.

“the situation can only be described as unfortunate,
expecially after the clubs participated in the recently concluded Super Four competition which was expected to put them in shape for local and continental
Tournaments this season,”  the statement contined..

Hope dey sha...as the communication giants expressed delight and heaped commendations on Warri Wolves, after the Delta based outfit clinically dispatched Dedebit of Ethiopia to qualify for the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup

“Wolves are the shining light at the moment and we wish to commend the team while urging its management and coaching crew not to relent in their effort to go all the way in the competition. We also want to call on the Delta State government and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to continuously give the club adequate support,”  the statement concluded
