Keshi brings down the axe!! big names dropped

Good morning friends, hope y'all doing fine despite the challenges we are facing in our country today...

On to our story: Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi yesterday released the names of foreign based players who are expected to help execute the African Nations cup qualifiers against Chad in Kaduna, and I tell you there was some notable absentees from the list.

It seems like the big boss "No wan look face again" as we say in pidgin parlance, as he ignored some big names who hitherto have been regular in previous of such lists released by Keshi.

Here's the list in full:
Goalkeeper:  Vincent Enyeama (Lille OSC, France).

Defenders: Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor FC, Turkey), Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough FC, England), Leon Balogun (Darmstadt 98, Germany),  William Troost-Ekong (FC Dordrecht, The Netherlands), Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin, Slovakia).

Midfielders: Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy), John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva), Babatunde Michael (Volyn Lutsk, Ukraine).

Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia), Aaron Samuel (Guangzhou R & F, China),  Odion Ighalo (Watford FC, England).

Looking at this list you wonder how Emmanuel Emenike, John Obi Mikel, Efe Ambrose and Austin Ejide will be feeling about it. But we have always reiterated that our national team does not have to suffer because we have to please some elements and Keshi have answered our prayers with this list.

Keshi was quoted saying Mikel hasn't picked his call since the last injury suffered by the midfielder, while we cannot point to this as the reason why the Chelsea midfielder was snubbed by Keshi, we can at least give Keshi the thumbs up for doing so.

As for Emenike, we all know Emenike is gradually becoming a shadow of himself for both club and country, struggling to get on the starting XI for his his club and paltry goal return, it's time guys like Ighalo are given the chance to lead the Eagles to success.

The Super Eagles play Chad in Kaduna at the Ahmedu Bello Stadium, and will look to start the campaign with a win.
