Victor Moses finally made his much awaited return to first team action for Stoke city as the Potters earned a 0-1 away victory over Leicester city. The Nigerian lasted for 86 minutes before being replaced by American Geoff Cameron.
Sammy Amoebi replaced Yoann Guoffran in the 69th minute but failed to inspire Newcastle to victory. They lost 1-2 to high flying Southampton.
Odion Ighalo scored again for championship side Watford.
Ighalo took his season tally to eight scoring in the 44th and 58th minute in Watford's 5-0 victory over Charlton Athletic, before making way in the 75th minute.
The victory keeps Watford in sixth in the English Championship, a position which guarantees them a spot in the playoff to gain promotion to the English Premier League.
Kenneth Omeruo and John Obi Mikel watched from the bench as their teams Middlesbrough and Chelsea cruised to victory.
SPAIN
Ikechukwu Uche featured for 68th minute for the yellow canaries as they cruised to a 2 nil win over Athletic Bilbao.
FRANCE
Vincent Enyeama was beaten for the first time this year as Lille lost 1-0 away to Lorient.
While Elderson Echiejele came in for French youngster Lavyin Kurzawa as Monaco beat Nantes 1-0.
HOLLAND
Nigeria striker Bathlomew Ogbeche scored twice in his first game in 2015 rescuiring a point for his side. The brace took his goal tally to 10 this season for Cambuur. Full time, Ado Den Haag 2-2 Cambuur.
AUSTRIA
In Austria Bright Edomwonyi got his Sturm Graz career off to a flying start, scoring twice in a friendly game against Ruder Velenje.
The 20-year-old took only one minute to make an impression by scoring the opener for his side, before getting his second of the game in the 32nd minute.
