Social Saturday: How Ex-Nigeria striker Kelechi Osunwa coverted to Islam 

Ex-Nigeria youth striker Kelechi Osunwa has switched to Islam in Sudan. The Ex-Dolphins Fc star along with two other Nigerians first moved to the East African nation in 2006 joining giants Al-Hilal.

Flying Eagles humble Dolphins to win Super 4

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were crowned champions of this year’s Super 4 tournament after romping to a 4-1 win over Dolphins FC in Friday’s final fixture.

 The Coach Manu Garba tutored side have enjoyed a perfect run; garnering an unassailable 12 points after they won all their four matches thus far.

Friday’s victory for the Flying Eagles came on the heels of goals in the first half from Taiwo Awoniyi, an own goal by Dolphins defender Jonathan Zikiye then second half goals from Bernard Bulbwa and the Chidera Eze completed the rout of the Port Harcourt team that will be campaigning in the CAF Confederations Cup this season.

After four round of matches, Nigeria U23s are in second place on eight points, while Enyimba have seven points.

 Warri Wolves have three points and Dolphins are bottom of the six-team invitational tournament without any points.

 The final day of matches will be played on Sunday with Flying Eagles taking on Dream Team in a match that is of mere formality for the Nigeria U20s.

 Warri Wolves will square up with Dolphins and Enyimba take on Pillars.

Nigeria striker Shola Ameobi has reunited with his former boss at Newcastle United Alan Pardew after he completed a move to Crystal Palace.


Levante offer Kalu Uche La-Liga Life line

Spanish La Liga outfit, Levante UD, have announced the signing of Nigerian attacking midfielder, Kalu Uche.

The 32-year-old, who can also play as a forward, joins Les Granotes for the rest of the season on a free.

The Nigerian player will stay at the club until June and has the option of signing for another season based on how the season pans out for Levante who are struggling for survival.

"Kalu Uche is already a Levante UD player after both parties reached an agreement for the remainder of the season plus another season in First Division," Levante UD announced on their official website on Thursday.

Uche leaves Qatari club, Al Rayyan, to make a return to the Spanish top flight for the first time in more than two years.

Levante have snapped up the attacking midfielder to bolster their chance attacking ranks, which has scored just 13 league goals from 16 matches this season.

Uche had previously played for Almeria and Espanyol.

Victor Moses scores in Stoke city FA Cup triumph


Nigeria winger Victor Moses scored his first goal of 2015 and his second of the season as Stoke city thrashed Sky Bet league One side Rochdale 4-1 in the English FA Cup on monday night.

The 24 year old set up a fifth-round tie with Blackburn with a dipping shot from an acute angle which was the Potters third of the night. It was a goal worthy of winning any cup tie.  

Former Barcelona star Bojan Krikic got the first, Stephen Ireland doubled the lead for Mark Hughes troops. Jon Walters sealed the victory after a late scare from the host through Rhale Bennett.

Moses has now featured 14 times for the Brittania side in all competitions so far this season and has has played twice this year.

Former Nigeria Coach Musa Abdullahi passes on 

The Nigeria Football Federation has expressed deep sorrow at news of the death of one-time Head Coach of the U-17 National Team and a former Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Coach Musa Abdullahi.

Coach Abdullahi, who suffered a stroke several years ago and had been confined to his home in Kogi State since then, died on Sunday and was buried the same day.

Tunisia halt the dream of Dream Team VI
