Interview with Taiwo Awoniyi

We bring you excerpts from an interview with rave of the moment Taiwo Awoniyi, he is expected to lead the Flying Eagles attack alongside Issac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho. Enjoy

What do you expect at the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand with Nigeria?
With the preparations we have done, we want to be world champions in New Zealand. Every game will be a cup final for us in New Zealand.

What do you know about your opponents (Brazil, North Korea and Hungary)?
We are yet to watch any video clips of our opponents, but our coaches have concentrated fully on preparing us for whatever challenges we will come across. We are ready.

The FIFA presidential election has come and gone, but the Shockwave it generated still reverberates around the world of football.

The election was keenly contested prior to Friday, with the likes of Louise Figo and Prince Ali challenging Sepp Blatter's 16 year reign at the helm. Figo eventually pulled out of the race leaving Prince Ali to challenge Blatter

Nigerian in Belgian league team of the season!! See who

A Nigerian has played himself into the Belgian league team of the season this year, better still this young man is a flying eagle.
He will be proving how good a player he is when Nigeria square up against Brazil in the FIFA U-20 world cup on May 30.
He is non other than the mighty midget Simon Moses of Gent FC in Belgium.

Fans wondering how they are going to watch the Super Falcons and the Flying eagles in Canada and New Zealand respectively, have been urged not to worry as all games involving our girls and our boys will definitely be televised live.

The Flying Eagles begin their campaign on the 30th of May against Brazil, while the Falcons will battle Sweden on the 8th June.

The General Manager NTA Enterprise, Maxwell Loko, said all the matches would be on NTA terrestrial channels and Star Time.

Mikel still a key player -Keshi




Nigeria Super eagle coach Stephen Keshi has come out to rubbish reports that he and chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi are at loggerheads following his exclusion from the team to play Chad in the African nations cup qualifiers.

Keshi went on to state that the midfielder still remains an integral member of his team and that Mikel was only excluded because he is giving opportunities to "green horns".
