Nigeria get Bafana Bafana test

The South Africa Football Association (SAFA)
through official channels have confirmed aninternational friendly between Nigeria and
South Africa.
The game between the Bafana Bafana and the
Super Eagles will be held at the Mbombela
Stadium in South Africa on March 29.
Nigeria were initially scheduled to take on the Black Stars of
Ghana in London on the same date but Fifa's new
regulations regarding playing games within continents inside
three days put paid to that.
SAFA, who have been trying to tie down a team for the
Bafana Bafana on the Fifa free window have eventually
settled for Nigeria in what promises to be an interesting
game.
The last time the two teams met was in an Africa Cup of
Nations qualifier in Uyo in 2014. Nigeria held South Africa to
a 2-2 draw which effectively ended Nigeria's qualification
hopes for the bienneial Africa football showpiece event.

Akwa united, a good breeding ground for future greats

In Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, the
club Akwa United FC may have always

on the proverbial regional tripod on which
the state’s politics stand.

 It breaks the
language dichotomy represented by the
three major ethnic groups of the state
namely; the Ibibios, Annangs and Oro into
a strong fan base for the leading football
club funded by the state.

Moses scores dramatic winner for Stoke

Nigeria winger, Victor Moses, was the hero for Stoke City in the club’s 2-1 win over Stoke City at Villa Park as the Barclays English Premier League entered match day 26.

Moses netted a 90th minute penalty as the Potters came back from a goal down to defeat the Villans on Saturday.

Moses was cynically fouled by Villa’s Dutch defender, Ron Vlaar and the 22-year-old Nigerian picked up the ball and decided to take responsibility.

He showed nerves of steel to calmly send his penalty into the bottom left hand corner of Brad Guzan’s net, sending the American the wrong way in the process.

The goal, which was Moses’ second in the league this season was his second in almost four months.

It also represents the first time in three seasons that Moses will be scoring more than one league goal in a single season.

Saturday’s win takes Stoke up to 10th in the Premier League standings with 36 points from 26 matches.
