Football has seen many crazy goal celebrations over the years, as we all know, this is the trademark of the round leather game.
A Goal celebration is a reflection of the passion footballers as well as the fans put into the game. Some crazy, others wild, some other,the both,but this trend is certain to continue.
The most recent casualty was Nigeria defender Kunle Odunlami’s wild goal celebration for his club Sunshine Stars of Akure. Prince Agreh’s stoppage time winner gave hosts Sunshine Stars maximum points and Odunlami stripped with only his pants on to show his excitement.
The victory was only the Akure club’s second win of the new season and they are now third on the table with seven points from four matches.
The player will now miss this week’s star match against champions Kano Pillars after he only had his pants on when he celebrated Sunshine Stars last-gasp win against Dolphins at the weekend.
Further headache for Sunshine Stars is that, they will be further depleted in central defence as Stephen Eze, who partners Odunlami in the heart of the back four, will also miss the trip to Kano after he was injured in the first half against Dolphins.
The only positive from this act is that, players and the fans are now beginning to show much passion, love and interest in our local league.
