Nigerian international Emmanuel Emenike put on a brilliant performance against Rizespor in the Turkish Cup according to Fenerbahçe head coach Ismail Kartal.
Fenerbahçe beat Rizespor 4-1 in the Turkish Cup Last 16 to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“If Emenike keeps playing like this I do not mind if he scores or not because he really does work hard for the team,” Kartal was quoted as saying by Sporx.
“Emenike was brilliant, I want to congratulate him and the team,”
Emenike has three goals in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.
The Nigerian international striker joined Fenerbahçe last summer from Spartak Moscow for €13 million, and scored 12 goals as well as providing 9 assists last season.
The 27-year-old was joint top scorer at the 2013 African Cup of Nations and also had and impressive World Cup and helped Nigeria reach the Round of 16.
Bursaspor, Sivasspor, Kayerispor and Mersin Idman Yurdu have also qualified for the Turkish Cup quarter-finals.
Fenerbahçe are currently second in the Süper Lig on 42 points after 19 games this season.
