But who is Bolaji Ojo-Oba?

Ojo-Oba started administering sports/football in Nigeria as far back as 1982, when he came in as a freelance interpreter and translator for the then Nigeria Football Association (NFA) a post he held till 1989 when he became senior Bilingual secretary.
In the AFCON held in Nigeria and Ghana 2000 he was deputy director of Local Organising Committee. As well as general manager for the COJA 8th All Africa Games held in Abuja in 2003.
He was also Nigeria Football Federation general secretary for a while, from July 2010 to December 2010.
Up on till his retirement he was with the National Sports Commission as Director of Sports (National Sports Federations & Elite Athletes Department (FEAD).
Speaking with press men Ojo-Oba said he felt it was time for him to step down and allow others take sport administration to greater heights in the country.
"It's time for me to leave the game and allow the younger generation achieve great heights with sports in this country"
"For our football I don't think anything is wrong with it, we've had good times and we've also had bad times, we just must not let the bad time linger, if a plane has turbulence it doesn't mean the plane is going to crash".
"We must all work hard to maintain our status as pacesetters in the continent" he said.
