John Obi Mikel returnd to the Chelsea starting eleven after he made his first substitute appearance in five games in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Westham on boxing day. Hull city 0-1 Leicester City

After the Tigers roared to their first victory in 10 games over Sunderland on boxing day, many  expected Steve Bruce's troops to raise to the occasion at the Kc stadium against lowly placed Leicester city. Nigeria star Sone Aluko started for the host but was unable to produce any moment of magic to lead his team to victory. He was replaced in the 62nd minute by Abel Hernandez.

Brown Ideye high on confidence after opening his premier league goal account on boxing day played the entire duration but did nothing of note to help his team. The former Dynamo Kiev man has appeared 11 times for the Baggies this season.

Newcastle 3-2 Everton

Sammy Amoebi missed out with an injury yet the Magpies had enough fire power to overcome Roberto Martinez's Everton side.

Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Middlesbrough

Nigeria and Chelsea loanee, Kenneth Omerou watched from the sideline as his team failed to produce any spark to overcome the home team.  Boro currently on 43 points are third on the championship log.

Blackburn Rovers.
