Yomi died on wednesday at the Lagos state university teaching hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was honoured last Sunday as an icon of the federation cup at the Teslim Balogun icon stadium by governor Raji Fashola, but due to his illness he wasn't there in person to collect his award and had to be represented by his wife.
The late Yomi Peters played for Mandilas Fc and also represented his country.
